Hispanic Issues in Florida
- Discriminatory employment practices in State Agencies
- Hispanic representation in the State Education System – Especially the State University System
- Under-representation of Hispanics in Equal Employment Opportunity categories
- Genuine – not Token, Hispanic representation on committees
- Unjust employment termination
- Lack of unified Hispanic scope and purpose in the political arena
- Lack of Hispanic organization throughout the State
- Hispanic apathy in elections and in many of the issues that affect Hispanics
Goals
- Unify Florida Hispanics for a strong voice in government
- Stimulate participation in public affairs that will foster a more representative government Increase political influence of Hispanic Democrats within the Florida Democratic Party
- Support legislation and government action on a national, state and local level which reflects the best interest of Hispanic-American people
- Encourage qualified Hispanic citizens to become candidates for public office and support campaign efforts to elect all Democratic Party nominees
- Take necessary actions to effect the above objectives

The mission of the Democratic Hispanic Caucus of Florida is to enhance the lives of Hispanics in Florida through empowerment, pride of ethnic origin, growth of self-concept, involvement in government and community issues, building coalitions, and development of political strength.

La misión del Concilio Demócata Hispano de la Florida es la de enriquecer las vidas de todos los Hispanos de la Florida a traves del acceso al poder político, orgullo de nuestras raíces étnicas, desarrollo de nuestro auto-concepto, participación en asuntos de gobierno y de la comunidad, la creación de coaliciones y nuestra fuerza política.
